Gregory Millar

Gregory Millar

Gregory Millar is an artist specialising in linocut printmaking. Born in Broughty Ferry in Dundee, Gregory studied graphic design and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art before following a career in graphic design at the BBC in London. Gregory has also worked with other creative agencies on brand identity projects around the globe. He has now come full circle and returned to his love of printmaking.

Gregory’s design style is inspired by numerous influences including the timeless clarity of classic Japanese woodblock prints and the honest realism of the great Flemish painter Breughel. His linocut prints are often large in size and use multiple linocut plates combining different colours together. The finished results are strong figurative images based on a wide range of everyday experiences which evoke an emotional connection with the viewer.

Gregory’s subject matter is drawn from landscapes, sports and his young family. Gregory is a member of the Leicester Print Workshop and the Society of Scottish Artists.

The Glen Clova series is available framed or as a mounted print.
